PART 1: Starting on Bridlington Prom the route climbs gently NE towards Flamborough. Then heads NW, briefly joins the A165 then left through Hunmanby, a good climb out and sharp drop down to the A1039. Turning right through picturesque Folkton then flat into Cayton and Eastfield, Seamer and East Ayton. Heading North West into the North York Moors National Park and the climb up the Cote de Dalby Forest (219m) on the smooth roads of Dalby Forest Drive! Take care on the fast descent, smooth and flowing with a few tight hairpins! Leave Dalby and turning left down to Thornton-le-Dale. Right onto the A170 and then level through the historic market town of Pickering and right through Welton and a steady climb towards Rosedale Abbey. Distance so far 90.8 kms.
