PART 2: Next, the Cote de Rosedale Abbey, a long, long slog up to the top at 418 metres then turning right for what must be one of the best views in England! A long, long descent towards Castleton, dropping almost 300 metres. Then it’s steep climbs and descents all the way through Danby and Glaisdale. The steepest climb next, up Limber Hill, over the tops to Egton and down to start the Cote de Grosmont (107m). Undulating along the valley side to Sleights and once you’re over the Esk the Cote de Briggswath starts (94m) then the road drops down to sea level in Whitby and climbs out the other side, along the tops and down into Robin Hood’s Bay. The 1.5 km Cote de Robin Hood’s bay comes next (213m) then sweeping fast roads over the moors before the final descent, round Scarborough and the finish at the far end of Marine Drive. Total distance 177.65 kms. Total Climb 2817 metres.
